Is A House Holiday Swap Your Next Vacation?

Have you heard of the latest trend that is growing so fast lately?

Exchanging homes, or what is being named the house holiday swap, is the hottest way of having a fantastic holiday at an absolutely affordable price. If you've watched the movie 'The Holiday' you'll know what the buzz is about!

As you may realize the accommodation is probably the highest cost in the holidays budget therefore by doing a house holiday swap it is a great way of cutting the main cost of the vacation for both the people exchanging houses. The parties may even decide to leave their cars or bikes, you just need to take your clothes.

By exchanging houses you may get to live for a few weeks in a quaint small village, out of the tourist track and you can also ask your host for the local interesting spots or unusual attractions that you could visit. I've found some of the best restaurants when I was in Northern Italy just by asking a local resident and these places were never mentioned in the tourist maps.

A house holiday swap can be an exciting way of visiting a new place in your country or you can travel overseas and have a fantastic experience every time. No more going to the same place and seeing the same old faces and same hotel year after year!

What I like best about the house holiday swap is coming home after a day out and find a quiet and comfortable space instead than the noisy lobby and tiny room and there is a obviously a fully equipped kitchen where you can cook your own dinner.  But perhaps you like eating out which you can afford now with all the money you save on the accommodation cost.

If you own a cat, a bird or a dog you know very well how difficult it is to have your pet looked after whenever you go on holiday, but by exchanging homes your pet is going to be cared for, your indoor plants get watered and the house is not left vacant therefore giving you a great feel of security.

The new trend of house holiday swap is a brilliant idea in so many ways although I have to say that it may not suit everyone. If you like going to the same place year in and year out and you're a person of habits then you should not go for a holiday exchange, but if you're the type that likes seeing new places, making friends and having new experiences then a house holiday swap will give you the chance to have a fantastic holiday at a very low cost!
