Dog Food Alternatives
I would like to share with you our experience with our Golden Retriever Maisy. Not long ago Maisy was having serious difficulities with her skin, coat, intestines, and actually he list goes on. We had several different veterinarians checking her out in hopes of coming up with some answers. She was tested for Diabetes, cancer, Lyme's Disease, parasites, Heart Worm, allergies, you name it she was tested for it. None of the tests gave any insight into what could be causing her problems. We even considered the fact that she could be depressed, and actually thought of consulting a dog psychiatrist. We just wanted to make her better. We thought for sure we were going to lose her sooner rather than later.
We live on the beautiful shores of Lake Superior, a bird dogs playground. Maisy absolutely loves to swim. One day we had her down at the beach for a walk and swim and she was just slugging along, stopping often to rest, it broke my heart to see her struggling, but still she wanted to play. We came upon a young man with an absolutely gorgeous German Shepherd, he was magnificent, his eyes sparkled, and his coat was glistening. We stopped to comment on the man's lovely pet, he noticed Maisy's lethargy and said with a chuckle that we must have really worn her out on our walk and swim. When I explained to him all that had been going on with Maisy he immediately asked us what we feed her. I told him it was something we special ordered from the vet with a very high price tag. He sort of grunted and told us her diet was her biggest enemy. He then went on in great detail about a system that he had been using for his dog and how it made such a huge difference in him. I was a little leary of his information since I didn't know this guy from Adam. I thanked him for his concern and immediately went home to check out his system. At that point I was so willing to try anything I didn't care what the cost. So we dove in head first and wow, what a difference this system has made for her. We now have our 12 year old "puppy" back with vim and vigor. When we are out at the beach now people ask if she is 2 or 3 years old! What a change, we are so happy with this system that we just wanted to share it with everyone that loves their dog and would like them to stick around a long time.
