Many bird owners wonder whether they should trim or file their pet bird"s beak. We as pet owners like to know we are doing the right thing by them, after all we are wholly responsible for each and every animal that we have. It is important to keep an eye on any changes in your bird"s beak, from over growing, under growing, discoloured, cracked, changing shape, becoming soft, becoming brittle, too shiny, improper alignment of top and bottom beaks etc, etc. Anything that is changing from what is normal for your bird is best to be checked out by an avian veterinarian. Don"t wait until it is too late, as some problems are caused by diet and can be overcome quite easily, just by changing or adding different foods and introducing items that can keep the bird"s beak in tip top shape.
Our Quaker Parrot, Charlie, loves to chew on branches from trees that we place around the house, both indoors and outside. Once he has chewed all of the outside layer from them we replace them with new branches. He loves to climb all over the branches and chews to his hearts content, whilst it is very messy it also keeps him amused. We have different shapes and sizes of branches so as he has to open his beak in different ways. We also give him different textures of food, both raw vegetables and fruit along with bird seed that we purchase from good pet stores. We have a cuttlebone placed here and there but he is not very keen on them, along with calcium bells. Charlie is still only young, about one year old, but we are very aware that any bird can have a beak problem, so we keep a careful eye on him. Even when he is on our shoulders on our clothes protector, a bird bib we give him things to chew on.
As I said before many pet bird owners ask themselves should they trim or file their bird"s beak, well yes, sometimes it is necessary, but as always prevention is better than cure. Try to give your bird, whether it is a Quaker parrot, Budgerigar, Cockatiel, Parrot, Canary, Parakeet just to name a few, a variety of items including food that will help control their beak and keep them in a healthy state. If you are at all worried about your bird"s beak don"t hesitate to take it to a veterinarian, an avian veterinarian if possible. The veterinarian is the best person to trim any bird"s beak and will show you how you can file it yourself if you ask them. If you want to trim the beak yourself please check it out with the vet first as there is a right way and a wrong way to do it. You can cause the beak to bleed and it can be very painful to your pet bird. You don"t won"t to hurt your pet bird, after all.

I am having a very hard time finding a place online to buy my bird food and supplies. I have a black headed caique as well as 2 cockatiels. I live 2 hours from the nearest city, so online shopping is the usual way to get the things I need. I have ordered food and cages from Bird Paradise in New Jersey, toys from a lady in Manitoba..I’m happy with where I get my toys from, she has a great selection and very good prices. But I can’t find anywhere in Canada that sells Goldenfeast, Roudybush, Zupreem, etc online. If anyone knows of a place that has decent prices I would really appreciate a link! Thanks!

Walmart is 2 hours away…hence the need for an online store. Besides, Walmart doesn’t have the things I am looking for.
The scriptures were written for every generation because time is different to God than it is us. Can yo imagine how discouraged the disciples would have been if Jesus had told them they would have to wait 6000 years for Him to return. When one dies they go to sleep in Jesus and wait until the final and last day of the earth’s history to be awakened and moved from the earth. When God destroyed the earth with a flood He put his people in an ark to keep them safe. When God destroys the earth and cleans it for the final time it will be destroyed by fire so He has to remove us to keep us safe. Daniel and Revelation tells us of the events that will happen just before He returns. Even Jesus did not know the day or the hour that His Father would finally say, “It is finished!”. Yes I totally believe it is very soon and the final movements in this world’s history will be rapid ones. It won’t be long and we will all be going home. Don’t worry there will be plenty of disasters in the final days and scriptures tell us we have to totally rely on God. Saving up for the time will do no good as robbers, moths and rust will ruin everything earthly that one can plan. Also many will be laid to rest before the great and terrible time if they would not be able to endure to the end. Perhaps so many people have died because they were already judged and sealed and will be awakened on Resurrection Morning as described in 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18. “Even so come Lord Jesus…….I can hardly wait. Mmm

AN URGENT MESSAGE
I am compelled by the Holy Spirit to send out an urgent message to all on our mailing list, and to friends and to bishops we have met all over the world.
AN EARTH-SHATTERING CALAMITY IS ABOUT TO HAPPEN. IT IS GOING TO BE SO FRIGHTENING, WE ARE ALL GOING TO TREMBLE – EVEN THE GODLIEST AMONG US.
For ten years I have been warning about a thousand fires coming to New York City . It will engulf the whole megaplex, including areas of New Jersey and Connecticut . Major cities all across America will experience riots and blazing fires—such as we saw in Watts, Los Angeles , years ago.
There will be riots and fires in cities worldwide. There will be looting—including Times Square , New York City. What we are experiencing now is not a recession, not even a depression. We are under God’s wrath. In Psalm 11 it is written,
“If the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do?” (v. 3).
God is judging the raging sins of America and the nations. He is destroying the secular foundations.
The prophet Jeremiah pleaded with wicked Israel , “God is fashioning a calamity against you and devising a plan against you. Oh, turn back each of you from your evil way, and reform your ways and deeds. But they will say, It’s hopeless! For we are going to follow our own plans, and each of us will act according to the stubbornness of his evil heart” (Jeremiah 18:11-12).
In Psalm 11:6, David warns, “Upon the wicked he will rain snares (coals of fire)…fire…burning wind…will be the portion of their cup.” Why? David answered, “Because the Lord is righteous” (v. 7). This is a righteous judgment—just as in the judgments of Sodom and in Noah’s generation.
WHAT SHALL THE RIGHTEOUS DO? WHAT ABOUT GOD’S PEOPLE?
First, I give you a practical word I received for my own direction. If possible lay in store a thirty-day supply of non-perishable food, toiletries and other essentials. In major cities, grocery stores are emptied in an hour at the sign of an impending disaster.
As for our spiritual reaction, we have but two options. This is outlined in Psalm 11. We “flee like a bird to a mountain.” Or, as David says, “He fixed his eyes on the Lord on his throne in heaven—his eyes beholding, his eyelids testing the sons of men” (v. 4). “In the Lord I take refuge” (v. 1).
I will say to my soul: No need to run…no need to hide. This is God’s righteous work. I will behold our Lord on his throne, with his eye of tender, loving kindness watching over every step I take—trusting that he will deliver his people even through floods, fires, calamities, tests, trials of all kinds.
Note: I do not know when these things will come to pass, but I know it is not far off. I have unburdened my soul to you. Do with the message as you choose.
